Test Method A. Ten towels shall be selected at random and conditioned in accordance with Tappi T 402. Weigh each specimen of size 10.1 cm x 10.1 cm, +/- 0.32 cm (4” x 4”, +/- 1/8” ) and immerse specimens in distilled water at 25 deg. C for 3 minutes +/- 10 seconds. Remove the specimens by lifting them at one corner until their surfaces are vertical to the floor, and allow the excess water to drain off for 60 +/- 10 seconds. Place each in a tared weighing bottle and reweigh. Calculate the percent absorption tom the nearest one percent as follows:
Percent absorption = Wet weight – Dry weight x 100

2.4 General Requirements.
2.4.1 Odor. Towels shall have no disagreeable odor, either wet or dry.
2.4.2 Color. Towels shall be white, light green or light blue, at the supplier’s option.
